| Butterflies can taste with their feet. The butterfly has taste receptors on its feet, or tarsi, so that when it lands on a flower, it immediately knows if it’s good food. When these receptors sense a sweet nectar, a butterfly uncoils its tube-like tongue to eat! (Flies also have taste receptors on their feet.) |
